Deaerator Tank

A Deaerator tank is a mechanical device used in boiler and steam systems to remove dissolved gases such as oxygen and carbon dioxide from feedwater before it enters the boiler. It works by heating the water with steam and exposing it through sprays or trays, which helps release harmful gases that can cause corrosion in boilers and pipelines. The deaerated water is then stored in the tank and supplied to the boiler feed pump at high temperature, improving boiler efficiency, reducing corrosion, and increasing the life of the steam system equipment

Pressure Reducing Station

A Pressure Reducing Station (PRS) is a system used to reduce high-pressure steam from a boiler to a lower, controlled pressure suitable for process or plant applications. It typically consists of a pressure reducing valve, safety valve, pressure gauges, strainers, and control instruments that ensure stable downstream steam pressure and safe operation. The PRS helps protect equipment, improve steam distribution efficiency, and provide the required steam pressure for different industrial processes.

Steam Distribution Header

A Steam Distribution Header (SDH) is a piping manifold that collects steam generated from the boiler and distributes it evenly to multiple process lines or equipment within a plant. It helps maintain stable steam flow and pressure to different users while allowing isolation, control, and safe distribution of steam through connected valves and branch lines. Steam headers improve system efficiency, simplify piping arrangements, and ensure reliable steam supply across the facility.

Air Pre-Heater (APH)

A  Tubular Air Preheater (regenerative) is a heat exchange device used in boilers to recover heat from hot flue gases and transfer it to incoming combustion air before it enters the furnace. It consists of tubes through which either air or flue gas flows, allowing heat transfer that improves boiler efficiency, reduces fuel consumption, and enhances combustion performance. By utilizing waste heat from exhaust gases, the air preheater helps increase overall thermal efficiency of the boiler system.

Water Pre-Heater (WPH)

A Water Pre-Heater is a heat exchanger used to preheat boiler feedwater by recovering heat from hot flue gases or other waste heat sources before the water enters the boiler. It consists of tubes that allow efficient heat transfer between the hot gases and feedwater, improving boiler efficiency, reducing fuel consumption, and minimizing thermal shock to the boiler. Preheating the feedwater also enhances steam generation performance and overall energy savings in the boiler system.

Dust Collector (SDC/MDC)

A Cyclone Dust Collector (Single/Multi) is an air pollution control device used to remove particulate matter from flue gas or industrial exhaust using centrifugal force. In a single cyclone, the dust-laden gas enters one cylindrical vessel in a spiral motion, causing heavier particles to be thrown outward and collected at the bottom hopper, while cleaned gas exits from the top; it is simple and cost-effective but has moderate efficiency. A multi-cyclone dust collector uses several small cyclones operating in parallel, which increases collection efficiency and allows removal of finer particles compared to a single cyclone, making it more suitable for boilers and large industrial applications requiring better dust control.

Chimney (Self-Supported (Steel))

A Self-Supported Steel Chimney is a tall exhaust structure made of steel that stands without external guy wires or supporting frames, relying on its own structural strength and foundation for stability. It is used to safely discharge flue gases from boilers, generators, or industrial processes into the atmosphere at a required height to ensure proper dispersion of pollutants. These chimneys are designed to withstand wind loads, temperature effects, and corrosion, and are commonly used in power plants and industrial facilities due to their compact footprint and ease of installation compared to guyed chimneys.

Bagfilter

A fabric bag filter (baghouse filter) is an air pollution control device used to remove dust and fine particulate matter from industrial exhaust gases by passing the gas through fabric filter bags. The dust particles are trapped on the surface of the bags while clean air passes through, and the accumulated dust is periodically removed by shaking, reverse air, or pulse-jet cleaning. Bag filters are widely used in boilers, cement plants, and industries because they offer very high collection efficiency, even for fine particles.

Fans (FD/ID/PA/SA/FT)

Fans are mechanical devices used in boiler systems to supply air for combustion and to handle the movement of flue gases through the boiler and associated equipment. The main types include the Forced Draft (FD) Fan, which supplies fresh air into the furnace for fuel combustion, the Induced Draft (ID) Fan, which removes flue gases from the boiler and maintains negative pressure inside the furnace, and sometimes the Primary Air (PA) Fan, which carries and dries pulverized fuel in coal-fired systems. Together, these fans ensure proper combustion, efficient heat transfer, and safe operation of the boiler.

Retrofitting - Revamping

Boiler Retrofitting and Revamping refers to the process of upgrading, modifying, or improving an existing boiler system to enhance its efficiency, capacity, reliability, and compliance with environmental standards without fully replacing the boiler. Retrofitting involves adding or replacing components such as burners, economizers, air preheaters, and control systems to improve performance, while revamping includes broader modifications like redesigning combustion systems or upgrading heat transfer surfaces. These processes help reduce fuel consumption, lower emissions, extend equipment life, and improve overall operational efficiency at a lower cost compared to installing a new boiler.
